YaMountain is reader-supported. This page explains how that works.

What this means right now

Some links on this site — for example, to maps, gear, guidebooks, or booking platforms like Amazon, AllTrails, YAMAP, or Rakuten Travel — point to products and services we genuinely use or recommend. At the moment, these are plain links and we do not currently earn any commission from them.

As this site grows, we may join affiliate programs for some of these same links. If and when that happens, a qualifying purchase made through an affiliate link may earn YaMountain a small commission — at no extra cost to you. We will mark those links clearly, both in the relevant articles and by keeping this page up to date with the specific programs we’ve joined (for example: “As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.”).

Our promise

Whether or not a link earns a commission has no influence on what we recommend. Our hiking guides, gear suggestions, and route notes are based on our own research and, wherever possible, firsthand experience on the trail. We link to the same maps, trailheads, and services we’d use ourselves.
