YaMountain (“we,” “us,” or “this site”) respects your privacy. This page explains what information we collect when you visit yamountain.com, how we use it, and what choices you have.
Information we collect
Analytics data
We use WP Statistics, a self-hosted analytics tool, to understand how visitors use this site — for example, which pages are viewed, approximate location (based on IP address), browser/device type, and the site that referred you here. This data is stored on our own server and is not shared with third-party advertising networks. We do not currently use Google Analytics or any third-party advertising cookies.
Contact form
If you use our Contact page, we collect the name, email address, and message you provide, along with the reason you select. This information is used only to respond to your message. We do not sell, share, or add you to any mailing list without your separate, explicit consent.
Server logs
Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically logs standard technical information (such as IP address and access times) for security and troubleshooting purposes.
Cookies
This site does not currently run third-party advertising or tracking cookies. Our analytics tool may use a basic cookie to avoid counting the same visit more than once. If that changes in the future — for example, if we add Google Analytics, Google AdSense, or affiliate-tracking cookies — we will update this policy and, where required, add a cookie-consent notice.
Third-party links
Articles on this site link to external resources such as AllTrails, YAMAP, Amazon, Sakura Mobile, and Rakuten Travel. These sites have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external sites. See also our Affiliate Disclosure page.
Your privacy rights
EU / UK visitors
If you are located in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Where we rely on your consent (for example, for the contact form), you may withdraw it at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
California visitors
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) gives you the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to request its deletion, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information with third parties for monetary or other valuable consideration.
Everyone
Regardless of where you live, you can contact us at any time through our Contact page to ask what information we hold about you or to request that it be deleted.
Children’s privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.
Data retention and security
We keep contact-form messages only as long as needed to respond to your inquiry. This site is served over HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the site grows — for example, when we add new tools such as Google Analytics, Google AdSense, affiliate tracking, or a mailing list. Any changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
